The Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure in Central and Eastern Alpine folklore who, during the Christmas season, scares children who have misbehaved. As with a lot of these characters and costumes there's strong a link to surviving the Winter months and scaring away the dark days and nights in anticipation of Spring.

I’m fascinated with the world beyond and the interweaving of myth. How folk costumes represent and enact the stories told to keep us protected with a blessed and abundant harvest. Transporting us to the dimensions beyond material , the supernatural, inviting and acting out the beings that can be found there who are represented in the folk costumes of ancient traditions of animist cultures around the world… half person half animal, death or plant spirit, masked and transformed …
